Prize Fighter, Tournament Announced

BKB™ has announced its next ‘Prize Fighter’ tournament, featuring those competing in the lightweight division. The quarterfinals (first round) will begin September.


On June 8th in the Indigo at the O2 Arena in London, England, the current ‘Prize Fighter’ finals are set to take place. Remaining is Ricardo Franco, who is coming off of a knockout victory over Connor Tierney in the semi-finals. His opponent will be James Connelly, who was granted a second chance, returning from a loss, defeating ‘Smudger’ Smith at BKB 16 this past month.

Ahead of the finals, where both Franco and Connelly will compete for the tournament title, a Jack Broughton trophy and £10000, BKB™ has announced another up-and-coming tournament.

The quarterfinals, which kicks things off, will take place in September of this year. The semi-finals in November, and the finals in January of 2020.

The tournament will feature lightweight contenders, weighing between 70-74kg.

Joe Smith-Brown, co-owner of BKB™, states the promotion is always looking for “new ways to excite the fans”, bringing in new talent, where they’re given the opportunity to showcase who truly is the best of the best in bare-knuckle boxing.

I have already had 13 fighters contact me within three hours of announcing the new ‘Prize Fighter’ starting in September.”
